WHAT TO DO WITH CIGARETTE BUTTS
ALTHOUGH THE CIGARETTE BUTTS CAN BE DISPOSED OF IN A BIN AFTER YOUR COLLECTION, WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON A SOLUTION TO GIVE THEM A SECOND LIFE.
ACTION'S IMPACT
According to the WHO, every year, 4,500 billion cigarette butts pollute cities, rivers and, more broadly, the ocean, taking up to 12 years to decompose and contaminating 1,000 liters of water each.
For this 5th edition, which will take place from September 20 to 30, 2026, the aim is twofold: to raise public awareness and mobilize a maximum number of participants around the world. To achieve this, everyone is invited to organize solidarity collections, with the aim of surpassing the record set by the last edition, which collected over 1,000,000 cigarette butts in 10 days.
We are once again fortunate to have the support of Noam Yaron, an athlete committed to the environment and ambassador for the action. With a growing community of over 830,000 followers and a reach of up to 60 million people a month across all his social networks, he plays a key role in boosting the visibility and impact of each edition.
